WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God. The Bible is inspired and authored by God but written through human agents who were moved and directed by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we believe the Bible is infallible and inerrant. (Prov. 30:5; 2 Tim 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 16:16-17) We believe the Bible is the light of truth in a world of deceit, the bread of life in an age of hunger and the promise of hope in a time of despair.
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and is the Savior of the lost world. (Gen 1:1; John 1:1-18; Col. 1 & 2) We believe God is too wise to ever make a mistake and too good to be unjust. We believe God’s sovereignty can conquer any obstacle.
We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word of God and by daily yielding to the Holy Spirit, every believer can mature and become conformed to the image of Christ. (Col 3:17; Rom 1:16;Rom 8:29; Luke 9:23) We believe prayer is essential to spiritual growth. We believe prayer invites God’s solution to prevail upon our lives. (Phil 4:6-7) We believe in the sanctity of life and that every person deserves to be treated with courtesy and dignity.
We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to redeem humanity and His atoning sacrifice provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, we believe that salvation is a free gift from God that only occurs when a person places his faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the sufficient payment for his sin.(Rom 10:9; John 14:6; Eph 2:8-9)
Further, we believe that God’s gift of salvation, once authentically experienced, is irrevocable and that a person who receives salvation by grace through faith cannot lose his/her salvation. (I Peter 1:23; John 10:28-30; John 5:13)
We believe God’s grace is too amazing to keep it to ourselves. We believe in telling everybody about the Savior who can change anybody.
We believe that men and women were created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but became separated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, men and women are totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by their own effort. (Gen 1:27; Rom 5:12, 3:23, 6:23) We believe people are by nature selfish and sinful and they cannot experience life at its best apart from Christ. We believe every person possesses a God ordained thirst than can only be satisfied by Christ.
We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and making Him known to a lost world. We also affirm that a local church is an assembly of baptized believers who meet for the purpose of fulfilling the functions and ordinances of the church. The local church is not just a part of the body of Christ; rather it is the local manifestation of the body of Christ. Our members are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ and have voluntarily joined the Crosspoint family. (Col 1:18, 2:9-10; 1 Cor. 12:12-27; Eph. 1:12; Matthew 28:19-20) We believe Jesus expects His church to be a life-boat in a storm rather than a leisure boat in a harbor. We believe He wants His church to be a refuge for all who confess their failures rather than a palace for those who promote false piety
We believe worship is a total expression of adoration to the Lord Jesus Christ involving both personal and public faithfulness. We believe church members should worship with anticipation as though it were their first time; with realization as though it might be their last time; and with expectation as though it will be their best time.
We pursue generosity!
(2 Cor. 8:1-3) We believe that trusting God with our tithes and offerings enables Crosspoint to honor God’s purpose and grow His church.
(Mat. 3:10) We believe that tithing is an opportunity for us to demonstrate that we are stewards of God’s blessings rather than owners of material stuff.
Generosity in our financial giving is not merely what God wants “from” us, but what He wants “for” us!
